How Do I Access These Resources and Services?

  • Visit - WLC Third Floor, Mon.-Thurs. 7:45 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Fri. 7:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Email -Use the Ask a Librarian form on the Erwin Library homepage.
  • Telephone - (919) 739-6890 for the Reference Desk.
  • Online -  If outside Erwin Library use your library barcode number to login.

Interlibrary Loan Requests

Can't Find It?  We'll Try Another Library for You!

The Erwin Library can always send a request to another library anywhere in the world to request an Interlibrary Loan for you when:

  • A book you need is not in the library
  • A journal article is not found in library databases 

Place your request inā€person at the Erwin Circulation Desk, or by submitting an online request from the Interlibrary Loan link on the library’s webpage.

Library Cards

How Do I Get My Library Card?

At the Circulation Desk:

  • Have your WCC I.D. Card
  • Fill out a short Registration Form
  • Place your new library barcode sticker on your WCC I.D.


  • Have your WCC Employee #
  • Fill out the Library Card Application form
  • Receive your new library barcode number in an email
  • Get the barcode sticker in the mail and place on your WCC I.D.

What Can I Do With My Library Card?

  • Check out books, DVDs & headphones in the library
  • Log in remotely to all library databases with your barcode number

Academic Reserves Set-up

How Do I Set Up an Academic Reserve for my Students To Use?

  • Contact an Erwin Reference Librarian, in person, by email or by phone
  • Provide a list of Erwin Library materials you wish to have placed on your Reserve
  • Or, bring your instructor-owned materials that you wish to place on Reserve  to the library
  • Allow three business days before announcing the Reserve is available for your students in the library
  • Books may be set up with a 2-hour in-house, one-day, or 1-week checkout period.
  • Audiovisuals placed on reserve may only be viewed in the Erwin Library
  • If desired, request that sign-out sheets be mailed to you showing that their students have accessed certain materials placed on reserve.
  • Let your students know that all Academic Reserve master lists and sign-out sheets are maintained in a single Reserves Notebook at the Library Circulation Desk
