How Do I Access These Resources and Services?

  • Visit - WLC Third Floor, Mon.-Thurs. 7:45 a.m.-7:00 p.m., Fri. 7:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

  • Email -Use the Ask a Librarian form on the Erwin Library homepage.

  • Telephone - (919) 739-6891 for the Reference Desk.

  • Online -  If outside Erwin Library use your library barcode number to login.

Library Services

What's In the Library to Help Me?

Computers - WCC Student Username login (the same one you use to sign in to WCCMail or Moodle) on thirty-two workstations).

Headphones - Watch streaming videos or DVDs (check out using your WCC ID card with the library card barcode sticker on the back).  

Laser printing - Includes options for black and white (single or double-sided) or color (single or double-sided) with no charge for WCC faculty, staff, and students.

Wireless access - Lots of study carrels and tables with outlets too.

Wireless printing - Send your print job from any location at any time, from any laptop or mobile device, and then pick up your print job in the library at no charge for WCC faculty, staff, and students.

Charging stations - Phones, laptops, and other mobile devices.

Scans - Created to save to your flash drive or send to an email address of your choice, with no charge for WCC faculty, staff, and students.

Reference Help - Point of need assistance while you're at the computer, in a study group, or searching the stacks.

Where is the Clyde A. Erwin, Jr. Library?

  • On the third floor of the Wayne Learning Center Building at Wayne Community College (WCC)

What Are the Library's Resources?

  • Print books
  • Ebooks
  • Online scholarly journals, periodicals, newspapers
  • Streaming videos
  • Four Study Pods can accommodate up to eight users, including a conference table, outlets, and a wall-mounted glass whiteboard.
  • The Library Literacy Lab can accommodate up to twenty-five users and includes a ceiling-mounted projector, computer workstations, and a mobile whiteboard.

What Are the Library's Services?

  • Personal Reference Assistance in person, by phone, email, or online chat.
  • Group Study Pod reservations can be made using our online reservation system.
  • Information Literacy Instruction Sessions by request, in the library or your classroom - request using the Information Literacy Appointment form.
  • Interlibrary Loan for books and articles
  • Outside Book Return for after-hours return of checked-out materials

Library Cards

How Do I Get My Library Card?

At the Circulation Desk:

  • Have your WCC I.D. Card (with a current semester sticker).
  • Access the Erwin Library homepage, then fill out and submit the online Library Card Application form.
  • Place your new library barcode sticker on your WCC I.D.
  • NOTE: You will also be sent an email stating your new library barcode sticker number and verifying that you have received the library card.

Online:

  • Have your WCC Student #
  • Access the Erwin Library homepage, then fill out and submit the online Library Card Application form.
  • Receive your new library barcode number in an email
  • Get the barcode sticker in the mail and place it on your WCC I.D.

What Can I Do With My Library Card?

  • Check out books, headphones, and in-library use only laptops in the library.
  • Log in remotely to all library databases with your barcode number.
  • Request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) for a book or journal article.
